Small Business Advertising

I have been customizing in hair accessories for the past 4-5 months and it seems like I had a rush of orders around the Holiday's but has slowed down drastically. In the process of adding other items ex. paci holders, bow holders, flip flops & possibly Tutu's.  Are there any certain type of business I should promote & ask if I could display my items?  A very good friend of mine is opening her hair salon in the next couple of weeks, she offered to carry them. 

Would appreciate any suggestion on other places & advise on how should I go about it. 

Sizzix Big Shot

Just ordered the Sizzix Big Shot & can't wait to start new projects.  Now I need advise on die shapes (flowers, hearts, insects) that i should buy to make hair accessories out of felt/fabric?  Any other advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

He Spoiled me!!

Saturday was the perfect day for my hubby to suggest we get out of the house & hit the mall.  First I thought he was sick or wanted something ;) he is not a fan of shopping.  Every store we entered had additional 40-70%, woohoo it felt like Christmas time.  I would show him something I liked & his first question was how much?  would give him price & he would give me that are you serious look because prices were as low as $2.00 after the discount. To close out the day he took us to dinner since we didn't spend as much as he thought.  It was a Great weekend!!!

Wow 3 hour nap!!

I was so surprised that lil man took a three hour nap today, YES!!!  Little to my surprise that three hour nap turned into an afternoon full of tantrums, crankiness, not listening & non stop whining.  All my memories of my kids toddler years are coming back but lil man takes the cake by far he is three put in one.  Tonight I'm going to hop around and see if there are any mom bloggers with advise on handling these situations. Open to any of your suggestions, my kids are 10 & 21.

Monday's to do list

On Friday I listed all the things that needed to be done on Monday since it's usually a quiet day at home with no disturbances.  Well I completely forgot that today was a holiday and that quiet house turned into everyone being home & that Monday to do list didn't get touched.  I'm not sure about your house but when I'm on the phone scheduling appointments or just gossiping that's when EVERYONE needs something or needs a question answered, yeah @ that very moment.  Needless to say that to do list will be divided into the next four days when I can get some quiet time in.

Blog Hopping

I took some time out tonight to blog hop around.  Wow so many interesting topics, advice and a day in moms shoes post.  I have always wanted to improve in my writing skills & now is the perfect time.  Looking forward to learning the ropes on being a more creative blogger.  Feels as if I was locked up away for years until I stopped working almost a year ago. For over 14 years my life was a rush, didn't get the chance to take it all in.  My goal this year is to take the time & embrace every aspect of being a stay @ home mom, wife & caregiver to my lil adorable nephew.  Let's see what 2011 has in-stored for me!!

Hormone Growth

My daughter i being seen by an endocrinologist because her physician was a little concerned about her growth.  Last year she had bone age x-ray to determine what age it showed her to be, that x-ray showed that she was two years behind her actual age.  My husband & I were both somewhat relieved because that meant that she would not hit puberty until later in her teens, which does not follow me (I was so happy that we had a couple more year of her being a little girl).
Well this past November we went back for her yearly exam & it seemed like she was not following what they had thought.  Basically she is already starting to develop which means that she will be smaller then 5 feet.  My mom, sisters & I are all between 5'1 & 5'3.  We were given the option of starting hormone growth treatment (health insurance must approve) which will add another inch to inch & a half.  This is an injection that we will have to give her daily.
We are still waiting to hear back from the health insurance but was wondering if any of you moms out there have children that have gone through this.  If yes, I would love to know if your child had a good outcome with it.

25 years too late!!!!

Ok so I've come to the realization that when I prayed for snow we didn't get any and when I prayed for us not to get any we are getting hit every couple of days.  I remember those nights when my sisters & I would all lay in our beds and pray that we would have a snow day & to be woken up by our dad to get ready for school.  Walking to school we were not the only ones with sad faces.
Not sure if it's the age but I would be the happiest mama around if I don't see another flurry ever again.

This house needs a break!!!

We started with the stomach virus hitting our house full force, ugh what a week from hell to say the least.  A couple of days before New Years my Son & Stepson (my sons best friend who now lives wit us) both were complaining about being sick & how no matter what they were still gonna party on New Years Eve.  They both took medicine which actually kicked it head on.  New Years day my husband woke up with the sniffles a nasty cough which BTW I told him sounded like bronchitis last Monday, I guess he didn't believe me so he waited until Friday to get diagnosed by his doctor.  MEN!!! This afternoon lil divaLICIOUS came home after school with it.  UGH when are we going to get a break from cleaning toilets, trash cans, buying medicine & snot tissues?????  I for one have been searching the web for a bubble that I can climb into until this house is germ free.  Until then I'll be the one behind the surgical mask & gloves up to my shoulders.

Seriously need to get organized!!!

Last year my husband bought me a crafting table organizer, which has lots of drawers for all of my ribbons, scrapbooking & other crafting items. I have it very nicely organized but I have only sat at the table about 4 times in a year. The table is located in my family room in basement, but what I do is fill up 2-3 crates of supplies take them up to our family room on the main floor & work on making hair accessories while sitting on my recliner. Our entire family room has a bunch of crates/totes of accessories & lets not even mention the three tables. UGH!!! I need to program myself to stop jumping from one item to a completely different one that way I won't have stuff all over & the family room can be enjoyed by the rest of my family. This is on my top list of 2011 resolution ;)

I hope I'm not the only one who does this ;)

I can not believe 2010 has come & gone so fast. This year I look forward to putting my blog page together the way it should by learning from other mom bloggers & hopefully they will give me suggestions on how to make my blog more interesting. ** hint hint**

Now the hard part starts & that is writing 2011, it usually takes me a good month or so.
